Lock Med -The Safety Product No Home Should Be Without!

Last week the Drug Enforcement Agency, in conjunction with local governments, hosted another drug drop off.  This is a completely anonymous drug drop off program aimed at getting rid of  unused, unneeded, prescription medication.  You can’t flush medication or just throw it in the garbage.  I keep any medication locked away in a cabinet.   I had begun to accumulate a bit of a stash.  After having 4 surgeries in two years, there was medication left that I didn’t use.  I was relieved to get it out of my house.  I am grateful the DEA does this.

I know my kids aren’t going to screw around with medication.  They are old enough to know better and it’s not their thing.  This I know. (I have struggled to get them to take medication after surgery or procedures!)  But, you can never be too careful...a friend of a friend comes over, I’m not home, snoops for drugs?  Who knows??  Could happen!  Or we’ve all heard of drug addicts breaking in to find jewelry or prescription drugs to sell!

I have always kept medication locked away. It’s the nurse’s training.  Medication gets locked up.  When my children were small, I worried like every parent about terrible accidents.   It happens.

I was recently sent a product to try.  Its called “Lock Med”.  I was expecting a lock for a cabinet or something but I was very pleasantly surprised to receive a very sturdy medication bag with a key lock.  This is great!  It can easily be stored or hidden!  It can also easily be taken with you.  Ever worry about hotel staff going through your things while you are out of your room?

This is a product for every parent for sure, but it is also great for anyone who has medication to keep safe.  Does it offer complete protection?  No, if someone REALLY wants to get into the contents, they will.  However, it does add a level a security that will certainly keep kids out and will at least deter others.  It makes it much more difficult to gain access.  (there is a ring you could attach a tether or padlock to make it impossible to remove from your luggage, purse or home)

Lock Med offers products with 3 different levels of security.  This particular medication bag is a level 1-2.  To see their complete line of products please visit their website at https://www.lockmed.com/

It is very reasonably priced considering the peace of mind it affords you.
