What would you say to swapping your usual face primer for Monostate Chafing Relief Gel? I know this may blow your mind, but go with me on this for a minute. Monostat, the makers of yeast infection treatments also makes a chafing gel. It turns out that chafing gel is made of the same main ingredient in popular face primers! I kid you not (see ingredient lists below) SmashBox Photo Finish retails for $36 - $42 for 1oz. Benefit Pore-Fessional Primer retails for $30 for .75oz and Monostate Chafing Gel retails for $7 for 1.5oz.
The ingredients in the Smashbox and Benefit do contain other ingredients like preservatives, fragrance, sunscreen, astringent, pigments, etc... Personally, I have all that in my moisturizer, foundation, powder, etc... I really don’t NEED it in my primer too. Also, I actually prefer to eliminate unnecessary ingredients. If this is safe enough for my lady bits, it has to be ok for my face! I am just saying, for the price, it is worth a try, isn’t it?
